How to change default planner used by ompl planning pipeline

I'm having trouble with changing from the default RRTConnect to other OMPL pathplanners. I've tried editing ompl_planning.yaml and setting moveGroup->setPlannerId(<<OTHER PLANNER>>); RViz selects the correct planner from the yaml file, but all my MotionPlanRequests still use RRTConnect.
