Limit laserscan output to avoid noise

hi all,

I would like to limit my VLP 16 lidar rtab map readings to a certain distance. This way i aim to keep my map free of lines which do not have an endpoint. I cant upload pictures, but I hope its clear.

I have edited the min and max range repeadedly. But this only shrinks the map size itsself. It doesnt filter out the points which are too far out of the map.

Does anyone know a fix?

Which topic are you looking at? rtabmap has some parameters to limit the range of the output point cloud.
