UR5 ur_robot_driver and external_controller connect time out error [closed]
Hi, I'm trying to use ur_robot_driver to control a UR5 robot via ros. I followed the instruction on https://github.com/UniversalRobots/Un... to setup my robot.
After running the ur_robot_driver bring up launch file on PC, I started external_control program on tablet, and got this time out error(even I can ping arm IP from PC): .
My setting: Ubuntu18.04, ROS Melodic, ur_robot_driver. Arm IP: 192.168.131.40 PC IP: 192.168.131.1

Having written that: in many cases there is a firewall on the ROS PC which is blocking the connection. Either configure it to allow traffic on the used TCP ports or disable it completely.
