Inertial Measurement Units

asked 2018-11-05 12:15:20 -0600

Dear ROS users,

I am considering to acquire a IMU for outdoor field robotics.

My requirements:

1- Readily available and proven ROS driver

2- Up to 120€ / 135 USD (max. cost)

Which one would you recommend?

Thanks!

If you are okay with putting it inside an enclosure yourself then the sparkfun SparkFun 9DoF Razor IMU M0 works well, we have lots of experience with it in our lab. It is supported out of the box by the razor_imu_9dof ROS package.

It'll take 30 minutes to an hour I reckon to get the firmware setup and calibrate the sensor.

Hope this helps.
