simulation for hector slam in ground robot

I want to run a simulation with hector slam in a ground robot (with laser, odom and imu). I want to use the final gridmap and the estimated robot position.

Anyone knows an alternative to hector_quadrotor_demo but with a ground robot?

I just now started to work with hector_slam, so I am not very familiar on how the quadcopter simulation is built.

But I would suggest creating a simulation of your robot with Gazebo and then mapping the topics properly to match the ones expected by hector.
