Pudubot: how to get it to talk to ROS?
Hello everyone,
At the company I work for we have a chinese delivery robot, called Pudubot. The problem with this bot is that it is not very precise and the set-up takes forever to do. The plan was to modify the bot in such a way that setting up will take less time and to alter the navigation algorithm. The problem is that we cant seem to figure out how to edit the robot in such a way that we are able to connect it with ROS. Another problem is that there is no documentation anywhere on the internet.
Does anybody know a way to put software on the Pudubot, so that it is compatible with ROS?
We are using both Melodic (on Ubuntu 18.04) and Indigo (on Ubuntu 14.04), both are virtual machines via VirtualBox.
If I google "Pudubot", I end up at a Dutch company in Eindhoven. That's probably not the robot you are referring to, correct?
No it is not, it is made by some Chinese company. This is one of the few links I could find myself: https://pudutech.com/product/detail/p...
That looks like the same robot as the one distributed (?) by the company in Eindhoven (
brobot.eu
). Or otherwise: the similarities are rather large.I would suggest to try and contact them.
I'll see if they know anything, thanks
Please do report back here to let us know what you found out.
So I contacted them via the site March 17th and I mailed them the 19th. I still haven't gotten a response and I dont think I will get one either anytime soon.
Given the current situation with Corona I'm not too surprised. Did you expect them to immediately respond?
No, but like you said, due to Corona I probably wont get a response anytime soon.
