How can I implement a SLAM navigation scenario?

I followed the instructions from http://wiki.ros.org/hector_quadrotor/... . I wanted to implement a slam navigation scenario. But I don't know how to do this. I can only control the copter manually using the keyboard. Could anyone tell me how to implement the slam navigation scenario shown in the video? Thank you!
