I've been developing an "open source" radar system. Its main purpose is to provide anyone with the ability to construct a low cost scanner for outdoor use. I've adapted a LIDAR Lite and SF02 laser range finder on a simple Gimbal motor. For more info please see Contributing to giving sight to AV's.

The format of the data from this scanner is distance, angle* ... with the comma and star being delimiters. I've done a few rosserial tutorials and would now like to send my scanner data stream to Rviz. Since I'm a real programming beginner, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction towards a tutorial that can help me.

Thanks in advance

RoboBill

It would probably help if you described what you are missing. You say you've followed the rosserial tutorials. What is it that you are currently struggling with?
