How to set up a third party motor in ROS? [closed]

Hello, I'm trying to set up this motor: in conjunction with this controller: in ROS. However, I've never tried to set up a piece of hardware in ROS before that didn't already have drivers for this purpose already written by someone else. Now I'm not even sure where to begin. Would I have to write drivers to make ROS interact with these devices, or is there a simpler way?

Help would be much appreciated.

Randy, both pieces are fantastic hardware. Very complex.

It depends very much on what you are going to do with them. The motor itself is programmable, with its own language, and the controller can be activated, as the motor, via RS-232.

What is your goal ? How are you going to use it ?

Quite frankly, not judging your project, but motor and controller seem to be both an overkill, to drive a "golf cart". There are some large RC motors and controllers (not actually radio control), used on hobby stuff, that would be a better fit, but yes, you will have to write code.
