How would I do so?

I tried googling and messing around myself, but I can't seem to find how to do so.

Thanks in advance.

i create pkg for you just do these step to compile it:

$ mkdir -p ~/catkin_ws/src
$ cd ~/catkin_ws/
$ catkin_make
$ cd ~/catkin_ws/src
$ git clone
$ cd ..
$ catkin_make
these step compile the source code and you can run the app like this:
$source catkin_ws/devel/setup.bash
$rosrun ros_example_pkg ros_example_pkg_node
for changing the code just edit main.cpp in ros_example_pkg/src and make again

Thank you so much! I'll try it out!

editing main.cpp doesn't seem to change the turtle's movement. like I tried exchanging left and right keys, but the turtlesim still works normally. any idea why this might be?

edit: nvm, i catkin_make it and it worked!
