Clearpath Jackal is not publishing topics

When I ssh into my jackal robot and listen to a topic with rostopic echo /tf for example, I get output as I would expect. However with a remote ROS connection, in a new terminal, it appears as though I have connected successfully since I get the expected output when I do rostopic list. However, when I do rostopic echo /tf I get no output, and I don't know why. Any help would be much appreciated.
