I do not understand why RoboEarth may use OpenStreetMap

Can you specify where did you see this?(which article or what page~) And is there anything wrong with OpenStreetMap that makes you ask this question? It's hard to answer without the context.

I think knowledge may comply with locations, directions,...etc. OpenStreetMap is the great way to get informations.
