Substitutions inside topic names

The Topic and Service name mapping to DDS article describes a mechanism allowing for substitutions inside topic names. It mentions a (possible) {ns} substitution that would come in handy for avoiding duplication and hard-coding of namespaces in the system I'm working on.

My question is, what is the implementation status of this feature? Short of digging through the code I wasn't able to find any mentions of it outside the mentioned design article.
