Is it OK to power the Turtlebot 3 with the power supply and the battery at the same time?

In the e-manual I read that it is OK to first connect the power supply (with the Turtlebot turned on) and then unplug the battery. I wonder if instead it is OK to leave them both connected, the battery and the power supply, with the Turtlebot turned on, for an extended time, while working with it. Or should I unplug the battery every time I connect the power supply?
