I am a beginer, can any suggest the version of ROS i should install?

i am interested in learning ROS but i dont know where to start learning and which version of ROS should i prefer?

What distribution you should use depends on your needs. If you're just doing it for fun, then check out foxy with these tutorials.

Because this answer will age fast, the "for-fun" or "I-don't-know-what-my-needs-are" answer will probably always be the latest Long Term Support (LTS) release. That general advice probably applies to most software packages.

Though that answer will change the more information you provide and the more requirements you have.

Thank you for your reply, actually i had just graduated in mechatronics engineering and looking to start a career in robotics field. So totally confused which version to start with! (Ros2 Foxy or galactic)

Ah got it. Yeah, the answer remains the same probably (this is just my opinion). If you don't have specific needs, then stick with LTS.

I agree with @Jaron. LTS is probably the best balance between having a lot of usable features and working stably. Then there is the advantage of being able to use that version for a long time.
