I want the map_server to continously save the map into a stream of .pgm files. For that I believe I have to put the rosnode map_server (that saves the map in a .pgm file) in a loop until the map stops building and while the map is building it gets upstream to a URL. Is there any work around how I can implement this in python?

Pedantic (but important I believe): your question appears to be "how do I periodically save snapshots of the map while it is being created?", but the title is "how to put rosnode in a loop?".

To avoid the xy-problem, could you change your title to reflect your question better?
