Lidar unreliable in specific directions

I have a quiet simple question concerning my Lidar.

I have a very low cost one (LDS-01) and I am driving with turtlebot3.

My laser scans are very unreliable in the "forward" mounted direction as you can see in the picture. Is that normal for Lidar sensors due to the triangles? Because to the "back" everythings works fine... (It is rotating so it can not be my enviroment causing any problems)

I set decay time to 20 that you can better see the scattering. Enviroment is tiny square though

It's somewhat normal for that particular model of LiDAR, but even that is probably a bit too much. Unit may be deffective
