How to upgrade rviz and rqt_graph

I connected my robot with my PC via a software named MobaXterm. However, when I tried to use rviz and the rqt_graph, I got the error below:

XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server "localhost:11.0" after 6 requests (6 known processed) with 0 events remaining. The X11 connection broke: Unsupported extension used (code 2)

My rviz version is 1.13.12 while one of my classmate's version is 1.13.13 and he could use rviz smoothly, so I guess it was the version that caused the problem. But I could not find a tutorial, so my question is how to upgrade rviz and rqt_graph without deleting them. Thanks in advance!
