Tried to use Hector SLAM for Rplidar with rpi but was stuck with Error of not finding the hector slam package

I am using Rplidar a1m8 and interfaced it with Raspberry pi 4b

I followed the above instructions to make it work for me and i was successfully able to laser scan my room with the Ros melodic and Rplidar using RPi

Then i thought of making map and i jumped to Hector SLAM for it

For this i first went into my catkin_ws directory and then to src folder in the Rpi

and then i cloned the hector slam files from github to src folder by using following commands

cd ~/catkin_ws/
cd src
sudo git clone  https://github.com/NickL77/RPLidar_Hector_SLAM
cd ..

then i used the catkin_make to build them

There is no mapping_default.launch file inside the launch folder...May be, you are following wrong outdated tutorial

the file is there but it was in wrong folder

i accessed it with right folder now

the launch is working now thank you so much !!

i got everything working but map is still not displayed in the rviz

even though i added the fixed frame as - map and under map section of display panel i added topic as -/map
