The outlook section of the ros index on lifecycle nodes (https://index.ros.org/p/lifecycle/) suggests that the future todo list includes python lifecycle nodes. Does anyone know what the timeline is for python lifecycle nodes to be implemented (weeks? months? years?)?

People in 2021 are also interested. Should we just imitate it using the same name scheme? So far, I've found this implementation: https://github.com/wesleysliao/ros2_lifecycle_py/blob/master/ros2_lifecycle_py/lifecycle.py

Why didn't wesleysliao submit that / post about it on ROS Discourse? At the very least it would get the discussion going again.

That's how open-source works. If people only work in their own repositories and never tell anyone else, how are things going to get fixed / make progress?
