Hi, I'm trying to find a way of clicking on the map in Rviz and obtaining the coordinates of the map itself at that point. Is there a way of going about this?

This is a duplicate of #q69019. See that question for a few options which may be used to get this sort of info. They're all not really meant for it, but it works well enough for some use-cases.

I don't think you can do that but it would be a great feature in Rviz.

What you can do is using the Focal Point (in the View pannel on the right you have its coordinates). Since you know the origin of the map is the top left corner, if it's (0;0;0) then the position of the focal point gives you directly the coordinates and if not you just have to check the offset and add it to the focal point coordinates.

That's not precise, but better than nothing.
