help with installation of ros and lsd_slam

I want to set up lsd_slam on my ubuntu 16.04 , tried a lot of instructions, wasted almost 2 days , on it, but failed, as I'm new to it , can anyone assist me with that??

Have you installed ROS? Have you installed it from source or using sudo apt?
