Hi all,

I want to know what is the best way to detect glass obstacles while the robot is navigating in a room with a given map? I know laser and IR sensors wont work. The only option left is Sonar sensors. I heard somewhere that Kinect V2 can actually detect glass walls which to me looks really surprising, is it really true?
I know this is a very general question and technically, it has nothing to do with ROS but eventually I will be doing everything in ROS, so I thought this will be a good place for such a question.
Any help or opinion regarding it will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that the Kinect makes use of IR for its 3D vision. It also has stereo microphones though. So perhaps you can use that as somekind of sonar?
