Jstest-gtk shows the joystick , even there, I can see 24 Buttons, but I am unable to use any of these buttons.
is that's the case, this is not a ROS problem at this point.
You'll need to first get the joystick to work with tools like jstest-gtk.
Once you have that working, nodes like joy should be able to just relay the information.
