2012-01-28 06:24:53 -0500 | answered a question | full <-> full-desktop without reinstalling Actually, I've tried to use it and everything's at a halt. no roscd rosmake fails. opened the python, saw there was a problem creating a subprocess, but I have no idea why. checked my system variables for ROS_PATH, PYTHONPATH, everything's in place. Is it becuse I've installed it straight to /home/ros ? I'm currently reloading an image of the UBUNTU to my SD card - since "sudo apt-get remove ros-diamondbacl-ros" - failed too. I want to follow "http://biomimetix.us/staticpages/index.php?page=PandaROSinstall" and do it clean - all over again, for the PANDABOARD. I am afraid of downloading the repository again, since it just halts the entier installation. I am really confused on how to avoid what has happend to me with it so far, an advice would be greatly appriciated. thank you in advance! --- update --- after mounting the clean previous image of the natty ubuntu on my SD card, with a clean ROS install, I've installed the "desktop" version alone and everything went smooth! how do I know what is missing compare to the "desktop-full"? |
