Hello everyone!

I would like to use my Hokuyo Laser Scanner to implement mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities. Can anybody guide me with the steps?

Currently, I am only able to view the laser scan in RVIZ after going through the Hokuyo_node tutorials.

You can use the navigation stack with gmapping or hector for SLAM.

Hi Jbot, thanks for the reply. :)

How can I integrate navigation stack with gmapping?

I have tried using gmapping alone to build a map but it turned out to be unsuccessful. The main reason for the failure was that I do not understand the steps for making my own bag. Am I able to build a map with just my laser and the laptop?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
