Determine the IP address following step 2 in http://www.ros.org/wiki/Robots/TurtleBot/Network%20Setup.
I've done step 2 I just don't know which is the IP for the Turtlebot i'm brand new to robotics and have no idea what i am doing
Which one is the turtlebot three titles pop up eth0 eth1 lo should it be under one of those
Yes I am using a wireless connection and I am working on a 2008 mac book pro running unbuntu 12.10
I believe the wireless is suppose to be wlan0. Are you able to connect to the wireless now?
My computer says I'm connected though a wireless network I reconnected to it and I got the same thing and no wlan0
If you are in a University, you should ask the Computer Center to give you an appropriate IP address. When you setup the wireless connection, it is better to manually provide an IP address, rather than allowing the system to automatically search for available address. Otherwise, you will have problem when you restart the laptop.
In addition, you may also ask the Computer Center to help you setup the connection. Basically, in your laptop (Ubuntu), you can either right click the connection icon -> edit connection, or go to system -> preference -> network connections. On the wireless tab, select the one you used (remove others) and click Edit, then in IPv4 Settings, select Manual, type in the IP address, gateway, DNS, etc. and in Wireless Security, type in the password. After that, the computer will use the same IP address all the time.
