How can I install ROS and gazebo with WSL ? Will it be efficient in simulations? or it would be better to use Linux?

I'm new to ROS and I would like to install it on my windows laptop, although I'm confused about the right way to install ROS and gazebo using WSL?! and will the simulation using gazebo be efficient ? or shall I just use the dual boot solution ? if so , how much space in my C drive do I need?

Please note that I'm using wsl2 and I've installed ubuntu 18.04! which version of ros should I install?

Thank you for your time and your help, I really appreciate if there are some links or tutorials to follow up for the installation process!

Couple things. You should be able to install ROS using the same installation steps as you would on Ubuntu. Ubuntu 18.04 is connected to ROS melodic (or melodic is connected to 18.04, but semantics).

If you're starting out, switching to Ubuntu 20.04 and using either Noetic or even ROS2 Foxy/Galactic might be a smarter choice long term. Melodic End Of Life is May 2023, Noetic EOL is May 2025 (and Noetic is the final ROS1 distribution, so if you're new it might be interesting to switch to ROS2 immediately).

As for should you use Dual Boot, my answer will always be yes. It simply removes 1 more layer of potential problems. I also simply do not know how well Gazebo runs via WSL. I know it's horrible in VM, but I simply do not know with WSL.

30GB should be enough for Ubuntu and ROS (whatever choice you go for). 40/50GB if you want to play it safe (especially with internal storage in laptops these days, most of them can miss 50GB in Windows).
