Hi,

Question about the ros1_bridge build is taking like a 2hr+. Is this normal?

Below is the link that I am referring to.

https://github.com/ros2/ros1_bridge

This is a regular PC with Ubuntu 20

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Celeron N3350/Pentium N4200/Atom E3900 Series Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:5a84] (rev 0d)

8 GB RAM, 200GB+ free memory

My environment is ros2 foxy and ros1 noetic but I guess I placed the package in ros2 workspace that might be a mistake I did.

This will be platform dependent, but you don't say anything about what you're using. A regular PC? A RaspberryPi? Something else?

Besides the capabilities of the platform, the nr of messages in the environment will also influence this. But you don't describe your environment either.

In my experience ros1_bridge does take a lot of time to build compared to most packages. It usually takes me about 7 min on a i7-11th gen processor with 32 gb ram. I think it the build time will also depend on the overlayed workspaces.
