Slam for mmWave radar

Im looking for a starting point for a slam algorithm that uses only an IMU and a mmWave radar sensor instead of an expensive laser scanner. The problem is, that the mmWave only provides spare information (PointCloud2 data), and most of the slam algorithm needs at least a (good) camera. Any ideas or tips what I could use?
