Custom GUI Support for Maps

Hi,

Simple use case I have here.

I want to develop a custom GUI which a user can interact with - specifically so they can view a map and simply select the location that they would like the robot to go to.

Is there anything currently existing that is used for this purpose that I can build on? (RVIZ for isn't a viable solution here as I have to be concerned about user simplicity can experience)

RobotWebTools has a way to visualise maps. Perhaps that could serve as a starting point?

Donno yet :) Started playing with the tutorials. It looks like it will give me a easy route for UI integration for users with no need or want to understand what's happening under the hood
