I use Ubuntu 16.04 with ROS Kinetic in VMware to be remote PC (Master), and use RaspberryPI with UbuntuMATE 16.04 and ROS Kinetic to be host.

The IP address in remote PC is and Raspberry's IP address is I set ~/.bashrc in remote PC for: export ROS_MASTER_URI= export ROS_HOSTNAME= export ROS_IP=

And set ~/.bashrc in RaspberryPI for: export ROS_MASTER_URI= export ROS_HOSTNAME= export ROS_IP=

I run "roscore" in remote PC and execute "rostopic list" command in RaspberryPI terminal. However, it showed "ERROR: Unable to communicate with master!"

I can ping remote PC ( in RaspberryPI but if I ping RaspberryPI in remote PC, it showed: PING ( 56(84) bytes of data. From icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable From icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable From icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable ...

What can I do about it to fix this, or at least undo what I did?
