ROS support for Oculus Rift and Touch

Hi,

Are there any packages that interact with the Oculus RIft and Touch? Especially for the new model. Most packages I've found are too old or only support DK1 and DK2.

If not, any suggestions on how to start to build one?

Thanks!

Hi Lucas, have you managed to find a Touch-ROS package? Thanks!

Lucas & @retepvan

Sorry for bringing up an older post, but I do have a suggestion. It's not Oculus-specific, but this package I'm working on should work: https://github.com/RViMLab/vrviz

I've only used it with the Vive (as that's all I own) so the button mappings will have to be made by yourself for the Touch controllers, as I can't really test it without having one.

VRViz uses openvr, which incidentally is also the suggestion I would give if you still want to try your hand at building one yourself. But you could try branching vrviz first, to see if you can get it to do what you want.

Cheers, John

Hi @john.j.oneill, thanks for the tip! Very nice work. Since I only had an Oculus, and there is no Oculus driver for Linux so far, I ended up using two computers, one Windows with Oculus and another Ubuntu with ROS, and I've used rosbridge and ROS# to communicate between them.
