Whenever I try to source the bashrc file, I get the following syntax error:

bash: /home/bajpaism/.bashrc: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `('
bash: /home/bajpaism/.bashrc: line 1: ` /# ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for 'non-login shells.''

I humbly request to help me to fix the problem.

Please add the content of the ~/.bashrc so we can try to fix it.

I can take a shot in the dark - don't you have a space in some path variables? Do you have an escape character \ before each parenthesis?
