We are using the UR3 with the Universal_Robots_ROS_Driver (and the fmauch description, as described in the readme)

I can move the robot to a jointpose, using RVIZ and my C++ node. I can move the robot to a pose using RVIZ, I can't move the robot to a pose using my C++ node:

my C++ node; target_pose is a copy of currentPose, so it should be valid:

#include <ros/ros.h>

have you taken into account that "random valid pose" samples in joint space?

@gvdhoorn Now I think about it, partly. I know it samples in joint space but my joint limits are [-2pi, 2pi], so that explains why the planning looks so weird: it will plan a joint to i.e. -2pi, which will plan through -1pi, which is visually the same position but not in joint space. I will rewrite my question to focus on my C++ plan problem.
