how to install ROS on Ubuntu 18.04?

i am using Ubuntu on virtual box 6. following the procedures that are available there in wiki.ros.org. using this command sudo apt install ros-melodic-desktop-full it shows the message Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package ros-melodic-desktop-full

Did you get Ok message when you install the key via curl?

Also make sure to update prior install. Do you have at least 20GB for the install?
