How can change local planner with my own one in a navigation simulation?

I created a custom package for a local planner that i need to use in a navigation simulation. But i don't know which changes and modificaions do i need to do to launch th simulation with my own lplanner and not the dwa (for eg)? can someone who already did that give some hints or explanations and if there is some tutorial or anything related to this that i can use, i'd be very thankful. I'm stuck here and very short of time
