How to use ROS2 with Arduino

My ROS1-based mobile robot currently uses multiple instances of the rosserial_python serial_node.py node to communicate with several onboard Arduino that publish ROS messages. I'd like to move to ROS2. How does ROS2 communicate with Arduino?
