Kuri with unprotected networks

Our school administers a MAC authenticated wireless network for research use. We would like to connect Kuri to this network, but the app shows a prompt: "Connect to Different Wi-fi: Kuri can only connect to personal networks that are password protected."

Is there any easy way to bypass this restriction?
