Difference between model as element of sdf and as element of world

Hi,

in sdf format, if we see the specifications given on link http://sdformat.org/spec , there are different elements called world and model.

Now, if we check elements for world, there is also model element.

So, when i want to write sdf for my own robot, which one should i define and what is the difference between two?

Please let me know if someone knows.
