At the risk of sounding foolish, is the ROS answers search bar broken? It doesn't seem to operate at all like your traditional search bar, and as such I've found the site to be of very limited use. For example, if you search for "dsp" it does not return any results, even though I'm sure this word is in a posted question and is also a tag. i.e. http://answers.ros.org/question/1183/real-time-digital-signal-processing-dsp-library

P.S. I've also tried searching for "ROS" and it has shown no results, but maybe this search term was purposefully removed.

I assume there is a minimum search length, searching for other three letter words also did not return anything. Searching e.g. for "rviz" works, as does for "roscpp" or "eigen". If that's the case, then it is indeed restricting the search functionality as three-letter acronyms are not that uncommon.

There is a bug with the current version of askbot where the search bar remembers state about previous navigation. One way to make sure you're not in this state is to click 'start over' and retype your search.

Does that work for you after starting over? If I search for "dsp" or "ros" either directly or after clicking "start over", there are no results.

I think you're write about the 4+ letter restriction as well. I can't find any 3-letter word that returns a result. We can file a ticket with askbot

I am aware of the 2 issues mentioned here, the 3 letter filtering and the 'start over' search, but askbot search still seems very broken to me. I search for 'python' and the top results have nothing to do with 'python'. I would expect that the top results are tagged with python, or have python in the question, but no. I picked out a few key words from a question i asked a long time ago and searched for that, no luck.
