usb_cam image resolution and quality [closed]

Hi,

I changed the video resolution in usb_cam (through image_width and image_height) to SXGA (1280x1024) and the image has indeed that resolution, but the quality of the image doesn't seem to improve compared to the default (VGA). I tested this with my laptop's integrated camera and in windows I clearly see the quality difference when taking pictures with different resolutions. Any ideas on this? Thanks!

Which version of the package are you using (electric | fuerte debian, compiled from source, which ubuntu)? Another question: Which camera are you using?

I'm using fuerte debian in ubuntu 12.04.1. My camera is a Quanta H.264.
