ls /dev/input can’t find my joystick

I’m running dickietown project and it fail to connect to my joystick when I try to do wheel-calibration It’s seems that maybe my joystick may not be js0, so I try to figure it out, but when I execute ls /dev/input command, it appear nothing but only mice. What might be the reason of the problem?

There is a similar question #q218450 I suggest you review. Basically check permission and if not make sure your joystick is paired properly.
