I am ALSO having the same exact issue when trying to install ros-fuerte-turtlebot, and none of the proposed answers have suceeded in my case. Thinkpad T43 Pentium M running Xubuntu 12.04 Precise. Here's my output for "~$ sudo apt-get install ros-fuerte-turtlebot", formatting intact (YES the program does run over its own words). Any help is MUCH appreciated:

:::EDIT::: According to the following source (http://osdir.com/ml/digikam-users/2011-08/msg00082.html) the Thinkpad T43 Pentium M processor does not support SSE3, which makes sense because my processor's SSE3 flag is non-existant:

According to this openni discussion (http://openni-discussions.979934.n3.nabble.com/OpenNI-dev-Failure-Run-Sample-PointViewer-quot-illegal-instructions-quot-SSE3-2-td3561334.html#none) the only solution is to run openni-dev on a Windows machine with full sse3 support. :,c
