The problem was due to an issue with the package geometry2. It seems that version 0.7.3 had a buffer overflow issue affecting Rviz and tf2. Details in the following link: https://github.com/ros/geometry2/issues/480
I just cloned the latest version of Ros/geometry2 (0.7.5) and it solved the problem.
