There is an openvr visualizer called vrviz that my lab is developing. It should allow you to view robot models, and interface with Gazebo, there's even a demo included that will pull up a turtlebot and you can control it. Here's a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0u4YXW0DFU
The code needs SteamVR to compile, and I've only tested it with a Vive, but I'm happy to walk you through using it, as I'd love to hear feedback from someone outside our lab. The code's here: https://github.com/RViMLab/vrviz
