Hi,

I am trying to publish three topics through usb connection to a custom pcb with an MSP432.

I need to use c++ as this if for safety critical vehicle control (Ford F-150) based on control outputs from Autoware.

I am having issues finding some examples on this as I do not have a lot of experience with C++.

I already have a program that does this in python. The only examples i found are 1000 lines of code and rather confusing to me at least.

Thanks!

EDIT: Where in autoware is VehicleCmd.h located? I am trying this in a seperate catkin so i am not sure how to make sure catkin can find this file

2020-07-23 13:44:31 -0600 marked best answer Custom (Real) Vehicle interface advice Python vs C++

Hey guys,

I wrote a custom node that subscribes to the accel, brake and steer commands outputted by autoware and routes it to a custom PCB (via USB) that we designed which has manual and remote emergency stops and converts the digital signals to analog signals for the installed drive by wire system (old aevit system). Most code in autoware is written in C++ but i used python as it was just easier for me to do.

Question:

Is there any real benefit by using C++ in this case? I am aware it may be better with time sensitive data but since linux is already not a real-time system does it matter?

Thanks!

2020-07-18 20:57:00 -0600 marked best answer Going crazy - can't find global waypoint node in map

Hi,

I am running Autoware 1.14. I have made numerous vector map/lanelet2 maps using the TierIV tool, unity MapToolbox tool and ASSURE Mapper tool. No matter what I do I get the error message GlobalH: Can't find Global Waypoint Node in map ... So I assume it is user error.

When i use the TierIV tool I realized that it is missing the dtlanes.csv and vector.csv - maybe that is an issue.

Please let me know if you have any tips. If i need to downgrade to a different Autoware version let me know or if you have a step-by-step guide or can tell me exactly which nodes i need to run to get basic waypoint following without a vector map to work

EDIT: I made the vector/lanelet maps based on a pointcloud that was created through NDT_Mapping node

Howdy,

how do you make the tf file for use in the PCD maps? Is this the first line of the PCD file or what is it in relation to?

It seems that whenever I upload the PCD it is far away from the actual rosbag data.
