Hi everybody I understand ROS is an operating system for robots. I have installed it both on a robot and on a linux machine. I want to write a program that will give me information from the robot's camera(s) and sensors. This program will be a user interface of what the robot sees and senses. My question might sound very stupid but I have to ask this so I can get it clear in my head: Do I use ROS to write this "user interface program" or do I use a regular programming language like C++ to do this?

Hi everybody I read on the ros.org wiki site (http://ros.org/wiki/wiimote#The_State_Message) about the wiimote, but on item number 4 which states "Check out the wiimote package, and rosmake to ready the package for operation. Plug the Bluetooth dongle into your machine's USB port.", what does it mean "Check out the wiimote package"?

Hi all I recently moved from ros fuerte to ros groovy.In need to download the sources from the repository in order to make some changes on the pr2_teleop_keyboard.cpp file and compile it. What is the command I use to download the sources aof the pr2_apps package?

Hi everybody I am trying to remotely see the image from a usb camera installed on a robot. I run the command

rosrun image_view image_view image:=/logitech_usb_cam/image_raw

and I get this feedback (image_raw:3417): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",

I have ROS electric installed on a summit xl robot. I also installed rosbridge 1.0 and what I am trying to do is to get the output from rostopic echo ,i.e. rostopic echo /battery, to show on a webpage. How can I do that?
