2016-05-19 12:30:44 -0500 asked a question installing scan tools on ros groovy

HI, i followed the instructions on https://github.com/ccny-ros-pkg/scan_... to install scan_tools on my groovy. After running rosmake scan_tools i have 1 failure. This is my output after rosmake. I could not run laser_scan_matcher_node as a result. I tried downloading the md5 tar file from here https://code.ros.org/svn/release/down... but the link is gone. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

2016-05-16 08:54:57 -0500 commented question Adding Baud Rate

I seemed to have solved the issue by other means. Apparently the problem lies with my no. of bits at the serial node not matching those of the Arduino and not the bit rate. Thanks anyway!

2016-05-05 09:19:39 -0500 commented question Adding Baud Rate

Sorry this is a custom package made by my project supervisor. I just wanted to know if this code has something that is common and if i'm able to add a higher baud rate. I tried initializing my baud rate on ROS and Arduino both at 250000 but it didn't solve the problem. Is 115200 the highest allowed?

2016-05-05 07:27:56 -0500 asked a question Adding Baud Rate

Hi again. I'm sending commands and receiving feedback data using my Arduino Micro over the serial. I wanted to increase my baud rate from 115200 to 250000 as i realised that my feedback data is updating at a very slow rate. I came across this section of code:

switch( baud )
   {
    case 115200:
            tBaud = B115200;
            break;
    case 38400:
            tBaud = B38400;
            break;
    case 19200:
            tBaud = B19200;
            break;
    case 9600:
            tBaud = B9600;
            break;
    case 4800:
            tBaud = B4800;
            break;
    case 2400:
            tBaud = B2400;
            break;
    case 1800:
            tBaud = B1800;
            break;
    case 1200:
            tBaud = B1200;
            break;
    default:
            tBaud = B19200;
            break;
   }

I tried adding a case for 250000 and assigned B250000 to my tBaud but got a compile-time error. How do i add a 250000 baud rate? Thanks!

2016-04-10 11:31:44 -0500 asked a question Uploading map image onto qt user interface

Hi, i'm currently lost on how to upload an image of my fixed map onto my qt user interface. I ran the map_to_image_node from hector_compressed_map_transport but my map doesn't show up. I have my map and .yaml file in my catkin_ws. My UI is designed using QT Designer and has a slot for displaying image. I believe that i'm lacking something but i'm not sure what is it. Thanks!

tried the 2 rosdep commands, sourced the environment again and it did not help. However upon removing "hokuyo_node" the workspace builds well. Perhaps i shoudn't use "urg_node" and "hokuyo_node" together. Sorry for the confusion and thank you so much!

2016-03-27 12:54:08 -0500 asked a question CMake Warning due to FindEigen3.cmake

Hi. Im new to ROS and Ubuntu so pardon me if i ask silly questions. I'm running on ROS Indigo and this is what i did:

  1. Add pre-made packages (E.g. cmake_modules) from github using

    $ git clone git://github.com/ros/cmake_modules.git

  2. Build the workspace using

    $ catkin_make

    (did cd ~/catkin_ws/ before that)

The command ran ok at the beginning, until i get a series of similar CMake warnings:

CMake Warning at catkin_modules/cmake/Modules/FindEigen.cmake:62 (message):
  The FindEigen.cmake Module in the cmake_modules package is deprecated.

  Please use the FIndEigen3.cmake Module provided with Eigen. Change instances of find_package(Eigen) to find_package(Eigen3). Check the FindEigen3.cmake Module for the resulting Cmake variable names.

Followed by an error:

Invoking "make cmake_check_build_system" failed

My issue is i have no idea where to find that FindEigen3.cmake Module provided with Eigen and upon checking my CMakeLists.txt in the cmake_modules folder i don't see any lines saying: find_package(Eigen) or whatsoever.

Did some research over Google and ROS site and found nothing similar to my case.

Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!
