I want to get the velocity of a particular joint using API. I do not want to use ROS or plugin. Can anyone please help me / I am trying to use gazebo::physics:Joint:GetVelocity() funcion but for that we need Base Pointer for the constructor of gazebo::physics::Joint. Can anyone please tell me what base pointer is and how to get it ?

yes you are right but for eg. in tutorials when they taught to build a mobile robot, they wrote a code in which they mentioned revolute joints but they did not mention what are the other joints, what is syntax for them, etc. This is just one example among many. That is why I want better user guide.

Yes ! but they only provide the tutorials. There is no user guide available.

I am new to the Gazebo Simulator. I am using the latest version that is Gazebo 5.0.1. I want to learn this simulator but I am not able to find a user guide for it. I tried tutorials. They are good but they do not give much details about introducing someting like what is joint, how many types of joints does gazebo support, etc. So I need a user guide or any documentation which tells everything in details. I would be really grateful !

I have built a small model of a small cart having 4 tyres. I have applied revolute joints for all the tyres. Now I can control this cart in gazebo by giving values of force to these joints. But I want to control this cart using my keyboard. Can anyone tell me how to do that ?
